GARTH BROOKS TO CO-HOST
COUNTRY COUNTDOWN USA

New York, NY - December 6, 2005 - Westwood One’s (NYSE: WON) CMT Radio Network announced today that country superstar Garth Brooks will join Lon Helton as co-host of Country Countdown USA, December 10-11 and 18-19, 2005.

In these rare meetings, Brooks will talk about his life after retiring from music four year ago, his recent engagement to Trisha Yearwood, and play music from his new boxed set, “The Limited Series.”

Lon Helton has hosted Country Countdown USA since its inception in 1992. He was named the CMA National Air Personality of the Year in 2002 and 2004. In February of 2006, Lon will be inducted into the Country Disc Jockey Hall of Fame.
