BERNIE WAGENBLAST
INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATIONS SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

New York, NY - August 24, 2005 - SmartRoute Systems, a subsidiary of Westwood One (NYSE: WON), announced today the appointment of Bernie Wagenblast to Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Specialist. Mr. Wagenblast will represent the company in all areas of Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Mr. Wagenblast has had a well-rounded career in the transportation industry for over twenty-five years. He was active in the creation of the I-95 Corridor Coalition, serving as one of the original co-chairs of the organization's Highway Operations Group. Most recently, Mr. Wagenblast was a senior associate with TransCore, where he was involved in a variety of projects in areas such as incident management, intelligent transportation systems and traveler information. Wagenblast was one of the original Shadow Traffic reporters in New York City in 1979, and later spent over a decade working in the public sector for both the New York City Department of Transportation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. During his time with the Port Authority, Mr. Wagenblast served as the Operations Manager of TRANSCOM, an interagency coalition of transportation and public safety agencies in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is also the creator and editor of the Transportation Communications Newsletter, a daily electronic publication which reaches more than 5,100 transportation professionals.
